Good Morning Britain star Charlotte Hawkins has revealed her true feelings about Piers Morgan.
It came after Morgan returned to the GMB set for the first time since he quit after making controversial remarks about the Duchess of Sussex. The 59-year-old joined former co-host Susanna Reid and Ed Balls to discuss Donald Trump.

Morgan originally quit the popular ITV morning show in 2021 after walking off following a confrontation with co-star Alex Beresford. The weather presenter criticised Morgan after he said he didn’t believe claims made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
But on March 3, Morgan returned to the show, starting his interview by saying: “Hang on, are we just going to ignore the fact I haven't been here for 1,453 days?"
He went on to offer former colleague Reid a hug, which she declined, before being offered one by Balls. The former MP said: "We don't mind hugging."

Now Hawkins, 49, who has presented on GMB since its launch in 2014 has revealed how she feels about her former colleague. She opened up about the controversial star in an interview with Woman magazine.
She said: “I wasn’t in that day so I didn’t get to see him in person but I was watching from home and he certainly livened things up, as usual. I’m lucky that Piers is a friend so I get to see him on a regular basis anyway.”
Morgan’s GMB return saw him discussing his phone call with US President Trump. He says they discussed topics such as Ukraine the week before Trump famously clashed with Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House.

Morgan claimed Trump was in an “upbeat mood” during their call but revealed the pair have previously had “screaming matches” before finding themselves “laughing an hour later”. He added: “So I always think with him, focus on what he does, not what he says, or the general drama and chaos.”
Concluding the GMB interview, Morgan joked that Balls, who has hosted the show since 2022, should “ditch the tie”. To which Balls responded: “Piers, as you know, I always do what the editor wants.”
Morgan fired back: “Or what Susanna tells you to do, bad for her brand if you take the tie off."
Reid explained it was nothing to do with her and joked Morgan should consider walking out again. While Morgan’s return got fans talking, Hawkins says she prefers interviews with “ordinary people” as opposed to big names.

She explained: “We are really lucky that we have such a broad breadth of guests, from politicians and government ministers to celebrities like pop and film stars. But actually, for me, the guests that usually stand out the most are ordinary people that we speak to who do extraordinary things.”
Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays between 6am and 9am on ITV One.
